Flag-stones
Paving an area requires less ground preparation than the lock-block but is not recommended for such areas as a driveway due to it being less flexible with more area between joins but for patios or pathways this is another aesthetically pleasing solution that is also low maintenance.
Flagstones come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, thickness's and colours.

Lock-block
Lock-block paths and driveways are a low maintenance solution, The idea of the lock block is that it's look flows well and it is an excellent way to join all of the areas of your garden. With using symmetrical rectangular blocks having straight edges makes your garden have a military precision to it, but when you ensure that no edge is straight the contrast of the straight blocks and curved edges gives you path or driveway a natural look.
Lock-block comes in many shades and can be ordered in hexagonal blocks,

Chipping stones
Gravel paths, driveways and seating areas is one of the cheaper options but at a cost of it being a little higher maintenance as weeds may not grow through the membrane below but seedlings can grow in the stones themselves.
